Super Sativa Seed Club Cannabis Seeds

Super Sativa Seed Club (SSSC) is one of the oldest cannabis seed banks in the world, founded in Amsterdam in the mid-1980s by Karel Schelfhout, a former squatter who received the Original Haze and Skunk #1 genetics directly from Sam "the Skunkman" Watson after Watson relocated from California. Schelfhout combined those genetics with seeds from Nevil Schoenmakers' pioneering operation, The Seedbank - at the time the only internationally operating seed company that predated SSSC - to build the collection that became Super Sativa Seed Club.

Between 1985 and 1987, SSSC genetics spread rapidly after High Times magazine ran a cover story on the Dutch seed bank, and the company sold millions of seeds across the US, Europe and Asia in under two years. The partnership that built SSSC eventually dissolved and most of the original seed collection was lost - except for one crucial plant Schelfhout secretly preserved, a daughter of the original Haze and Skunk #1 cross he named Old School Haze, kept alive for more than 30 years before his son Kees revived the brand and reintroduced it in 2015.

SSSC holds a place in the High Times Seed Bank Hall of Fame, and its genetics run deep through modern cannabis breeding - most strains carrying Haze or Skunk lineage today trace back, at some remove, to SSSC's original 1980s genetics.
